The Pamunkey river, a beautiful body of water located in Virginia’s tidewater region, has been home to the Pamunkey Indian Tribe longer than records have been kept.
For thousands of years the Pamunkey River has connected a people to a place, and has sustained generations of the Tribe. Today it is under pressure from invasive species and pollution, but a new generation of Pamunkey members, in tandem with Government scientist, are working to bring the river and its fish populations back to a healthy place.
